Answers to some frequently asked questions:

Driving Directions... If you are coming from Lancaster:

Take 222 North toward Reading for approximately 26 miles.

Take West 422 Business Route exit (Penn Avenue and Lebanon) and then bear right to go on Penn Avenue toward Wyomissing and West Reading.

Stay on Penn Avenue for approximately 1.7 miles to 5th Avenue and turn left.   That takes you into a traffic circle.  Travel 1/2 of the way around the circle and turn right onto Tulpehocken Avenue (Mom Chaffe's Italian Restaurant on the left) after you have made the turn.   Just realized Mom Chaffe's sign was damaged during hurricane Irene so now it just says Italian Restaurant...sorry!!   Well now the sign has been taken down all together and there are 5 flags on the front of the building!!

The Wool Studio is located two and a half blocks from the traffic circle at 328 Tulpehocken Avenue at the dead end.  You will see a small complex of brown buildings on your left.  Turn left into that parking lot and we are the last building on the right.

Driving Directions from the 422 Bypass:

Traveling from Philadelphia or Allentown...on Route 422 take the 422 Business exit toward West Reading.  You will come upon 4th Avenue first...proceed straight ahead and turn right onto 5th Avenue (passing Tulpehocken Avenue between 4th and 5th).  You could turn right onto Tulpehocken Avenue but it is a small side street and if you miss it you can proceed straight ahead and turn right onto 5th Avenue.  From there you follow directions above to the traffic circle and on to Tulpehocken Ave.

     Dining Options:

If you walk on Penn Avenue between 4th and 7th you will find everything from Vietnamese quisine (Van's Cafe) at 448 Penn Avenue to gluten free at Good Eats at 7th and Penn.   Mom Chaffe's is on Tulpehocken Avenue but is only open for dinner and you should have reservations. (610-374-5733).  The West Reading Tavern at 606 Penn Avenue has great food and there is a French Cafe directly across the street...crepes, pizza and coffee shops as well.  There are also many little boutiques and specialty shops along the way so leave time to enjoy West Reading.  Vanity Fair Outlets are 2 to 3 blocks west of the Studio.

One note of caution!!  If everyone comes that says they are coming the dead end on Tulpehocken Avenue could pose a problem....that is only if everyone decides to come at the same time!!  So... if you turn onto Tulpehocken Avenue and it looks like traffic might be backed up you may want to turn down a side street to park.  We are only 2 + 1/2 blocks past the traffic circle so it would not be a long walk from various locations.
